Rational Animal, a non-profit organization that helps needy animals, and the Morrison Hotel Gallery, which showcases fine art music photography, have joined forces to increase public awareness of at-risk animals with the release of the 2010 Rational Animal calendar, “In Perfect Harmony: Music Legends and their Animals.” Showcasing vintage photographs of music icons including Patti Smith, Eric Clapton, Sting, Neil Young, John Lennon and Michael Jackson with their beloved animals, each month in the calendar features an image and anecdote by a different photographer. “In Perfect Harmony…” is just one of many forward-thinking projects from Rational Animal, who has previously recruited celebrities, artists and media professionals to help bring their message to the public. New York City-based, the non-profit organization is comprised of a team of creatives who raise money for rescues and shelters while generating awareness by hosting special events and creating media attention to educate the population about animal safety. The calendar is also environmentally sound, printed on sustainable resources. All proceeds help Rational Animal continue their campaign for the care of at-risk animals. $19.95.
