OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS: Calling all makeup and environment-friendly Enthusiasts! O.C.C. moves into LES!

The Lower East Side has a new, addictive neighbor and, unlike its usual bar or boutique counterparts, this brand is encouraging bad habits in the prettiest ways. Last Thursday, Ludlow St. welcomed their tenant, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, with the opening of the company’s first brick-and-mortar shop. What started as a small, pro-only range of products has now transformed into a complete collection of vegan-friendly lip stains, nail lacquers and eye shadows — all available in dozens of jaw-dropping hues. Founder of O.C.C. and makeup artist extraordinaire, David Klasfeld, began creating the cult-like followed brand back in 2004. Working with 100% Vegan and PETA approved ingredients, the professional-quality cosmetic line has been a trade secret for makeup artists in film and television for years. After getting a sneak peak at the line, it’s easy to see why.
Makeup artists and enthusiasts from all over flocked to O.C.C.’s flagship store opening night, gushing over the brand’s full stock of shades. The popular Lip Tar, available in 36 colors that range from eye-popping primaries to subdued earthy-neutrals, found its way onto several partygoers' pouts. The collection of nail lacquers was also receiving quite a bit of attention, with guests swooning over the incredible thirty-color lineup. The party lasted well after sunset and while guests continued their color tests and makeovers, Klasfeld could be found just outside the front door. With a big smile on his face, he stared in at his newest O.C.C. addition, which we’re sure will soon be the most popular beauty spot on the block. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is located at 174 Ludlow St, NY. OCCMakeUp.com — Jessica Olm
