TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS: Created to Love and Be Loved
Sharing the love with those who need it.
To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement bringing awareness and hope to people facing depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. This is a movement we can all get behind, showing our support and surrendering a part of our heart to those who feel lost. Since its start in 2006, they have donated over $850,000 directly into treatment and recovery and have answered over 160,000 emails in over 100 countries.
When asked about TWLOHA, the founder said, “The driving force is that we have the opportunity to help people. Thousands of people all over the world struggle with depression, addiction and self-injury and many of them feel very much alone with their pain. We have the opportunity to encourage people, to let them know they're not alone, to point them to resources and also to invest in people's treatment and recovery. We meet people who say ‘I'm still alive because of TWLOHA’ or ‘I decided to get help because of your website.’ Those are the things that keep us going."
This year you can spread the love with the To Write Love On Her Arms team at this year’s Nocturnal Alliance Tour. TWLOHA's Chad Moses speaks enthusiastically about the tour:
“One of our favorite aspects of working with musicians is that it often looks and feels like working with friends. A couple years ago, at Cornerstone Festival, we met some guys who perform under the name MyChildren MyBride. Through a series of heart-to-heart chats, we found ourselves in the middle of a growing friendship. These guys have long supported the work we do and are passionate about connecting people to hope and help. Over the past year or so, we've kicked around thoughts, and hopes, and dreams of working together and in February, our paths crossed at a diner in St. Louis. After catching up over waffles, Robert (one of MCMB's guitarists) mentioned that they were planning a co-headlining tour this summer with Impending Doom and that they tour would span much of Canada. The guys all added that it would be great if TWLOHA could somehow fit into this tour. We said that we loved the idea, so they talked to their manager and the other bands, and now here we are! In short, this started as simply a conversation amongst friends and has resulted in one of our most highly anticipated music related events of 2011.”
The tour will showcase music by MyChildren MyBride, Impending Doom, A Bullet for Pretty Boy and The Crimson Armada.
